An update on some of the women in my life:
- Happy Birthday to Brov and Emily's new baby girl. She was born this morning 5/22/08 by c-section weighing in at 6lbs 10oz and 19 1/2 inches. She has tons of dark long hair with a widow's peak (like her dad). Official name and pictures to come...
- Congratulations to Emily for having her new baby. Great job on the pregnancy, delivery, and we wish you a speedy recovery.
- Katie had her last high-school violin concert tonight. She was absolutely amazing. Her main performance was the only performance to get a standing ovation. I know she is great and I was still blown away. Grandpa Jensen would have been so proud to have another musical genius in the family. Katie has finished all of her high-school classes and will have her graduation ceremony next week. Crazy! They grow-up so fast.

Residency Graduation
Graduation day is getting closer. Only one more call day left.
This is a photo of my fellow residents in my class. It was taken by Steve Leitch. We did not plan the clothes by the way. The tall people all wore white and the 3 shorties wore solid colors on top. Funny. We are officially done with residency the last day of June but are having a graduation dinner to celebrate on June 13. I sent invitations to the parental units because I really don't think anyone else would want to come. Crystal is on the front row on the right and is Alicia Allen's older sister (married to Christopher Allen). So Crystal and I are like cousins-in-law sort-of. We have all counted on each other so much the past 3 yrs and have tried to help each other survive residency. I am fortunate to have great classmates.
Another step (almost) done, and one more starting.
Sports Medicine Fellowship in August for one year. Then, when I am 34 years old, I will finally be a working independent primary care sports medicine physician. Whew!
Lets review: 5 yrs of college, 2 yrs of masters, 4 yrs in medical school, 3 yrs in residency, 1 yr in fellowship. (And I still get mistaken for a nurse every time I walk into a patient's room.)

Happy Mom's Day!
Mom:
-Thank you for having me even though you were only 17 years old.
-Thanks for teaching me about love and sacrifice.
-Thank you for instilling values of hard work, education, quiet time, family, following your heart and dreams, courage to be yourself, home cooked meals, creativity, exploration, exercise.
-Thank you for not paying too much attention when I complained on the way to dance after school. If you had, I would not have been able to develop a skill that I ended up loving.
-Thank you for helping me develop an appreciation for good chocolate and ice cream.

A Day Off
I was very fortunate to have some time off this week. So I went to the zoo with Jonah, Em, and Brov. We had fun making animal noises, more us than Jonah. Then we went to my house and played in the yard with Oakley. It felt so good to have a relaxing day hanging with family.
